It’s gone,
The last star has gone,
it’s time to move on,
while the righteous are sleeping.
I don’t want you to cry,
one tear of goodbye,
they’re not quite a weeping.
We are more than a shadow,
the way they can stare,
we just see us together.
It would only be in vain,
if we tried to explain,
they’re just not that clever.
They refuse to get used to,
that we live as we choose to,
so we leave them behind,
keep trying to find,
a world of our own.
Love is keen only when there’s a ring on your finger,
love is fame that you hang in a frame of the wall.
Love is proper when mama and papa adore you.
I can’t believe that great Adam and Eve replaced at all.
They were fools with our rules in the Garden of Eden.
Just to love and be loved with no feeling of shame.
Poor old wedding and skinning and sin through the ages.
And we’ll bear the pain even though you know love is to blame.
It’s gone, the last star has gone,
it’s time to move on,
while the righteous are sleeping.
There’s no looking back,
don’t bother to bark,
there’s nothing we’re keeping.
Till the sun makes the rain go,
and hates anyone’s rainbow.
We just leave them behind,
keep trying to find a world of our own.
Love is keen only when there’s a ring on your finger,
love is fame that you hang in a frame of the wall.
Love is proper when mama and papa adore you.
I can’t believe that great Adam and Eve replaced at all.
They were fools with the rules in the garden of Eden.
Just to love and be loved with no feeling of shame.
Poor old wedding and skinning and sin through the ages.
And we’ll bear the pain even though you know love is to blame.
Love is to blame.
